Frank
Robert Braun, 74 of Baraboo, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018 at his residence
with his loving family by his side. Frank was born on May 1, 1944 in Baraboo
the son of William and Dorothy (Welk) Braun. On Jan. 24, 1981, Frank married
Judy M. Kowalke at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo. At
a young age, Frank started his one and only career at Circus World Museum as a
maintenance and animal caretaker. He especially enjoyed working with his
elephant companions Eva, Topsy and Toby. They shared a special bond that lasted
many years. During his employment, Frank formed many friendships which included
long time friend Harold “Heavy” Burdick. In
his spare time, Frank enjoyed attending the Steam and Gas show every year,
junking and visiting with family and friends. He will be truly missed by
everyone who knew him. Frank
is survived by his two children, William Robert “Bill” (Marisa) Braun and Jenna
Marie Braun (Ron Schellenberger); two grandchildren, Alexis and Ryan; ex-wife
and good friend, Judy Braun; brother-in-laws, Darrin Hammerstrom and Mark
Strampe; and other relatives and many friends. In
addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanie,
Rose and Rita; and brother, Donny. A celebration of Frank's
life will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Circus World Museum Hippodrome, 550 Water St., Baraboo. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 3 p.m. A luncheon and fellowship will follow. Baldwin Funeral
