Glenn R. Quale
Glenn R. Quale Glenn R. Quale, age 86, of Baraboo, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Glenn was born on April 3, 1927 in Baraboo, the son of Norman and Margaret (Hughes) Quale. He was a 1945 graduate of Baraboo High School, and enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country during WW II. Upon being honorably discharged, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he ultimately received a law degree in 1952. The very next day, he married Marilyn Nelson in Baraboo. Glenn began his law career in Baraboo at Hill, Miller, and Hill in 1952, which over the years evolved into Quale-Hartmann. He was proud to be instrumental in having his firm be the first one in Baraboo to be computerized. Many of the people he worked with became close friends. He retired in 1995. Glenn was involved with many community organizations. Some of which included the Baraboo School Board where he served as president for several years. He also served as president of the Kiwanis and Lions clubs and was a founding member of the current Baraboo Country Club. He was and a member of the American Bar Association. In addition, Glenn was a member and/or director of numerous business and philanthropic organizations. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, skiing, fishing, gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Baraboo; five children, Andrew Quale of Baraboo, Teresa Quale (Richard) Wolkowski of Baraboo, Margaret Quale Acker (Martin) of Middleton, Laura Quale (Russell) Fenske of Baraboo and Thomas (Audrey) Quale of Sarasota, FL.; 12 grandchildren, Angela Larson, Drew Bergquist, Emily Jantz, Karmen Bergquist, Elizabeth Parker, Brenden Fenske, Nicholas Acker, Tyler Fenske, Chelsea Fenske, Meggie Acker, Savanna Quale and Benjy Quale; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elisabeth Quale and Patsy Duboc; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, John and David. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 615 Broadway St., in Baraboo, with Pastor Donna Miller officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo. Memorials in Glenn’s honor, may be given to the First United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice. Glenn was a man of high integrity and character. He touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed.
