Kilton Gwartney Holmes

Kilton Gwartney Holmes, age 59, of Baraboo, died on Tuesday, May
19, 2020 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo. Kilton was born on Oct. 12, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the second
child of Dan Perkins Holmes, Jr. and Mevadene Gwartney. He was a 1979 graduate
of Charles C. Mason High School in Tulsa, and later attended Tulsa Community
College graduating with an associates degree in Materials Management. Faith in God was core to his character and he was a man of
strong beliefs, convictions and interests. He loved history, conservative
politics, trains, space exploration, spending time at church and at the Baraboo
Public Library. Kilton was preceded in death by parents, Dan and Mevadene; and a
brother, Perky Holmes. He is survived by his sons, Blake Andrew and Bryce Phillip
Holmes; his sister, Kendall Berry of Edmonds, Washington; stepmother, Jeanne
Holmes of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in Oklahoma
and Texas. Due to Covid-19 and
travel restrictions there will be no formal service but we will always cherish
our memories of Kilton. Memorial donations in his name can be made to the
Baraboo Public Library, Walnut Hill Bible Church, or the charity of your
choice. Baldwin Funeral Services, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the
family with arrangements.
