Leopold "Leo" Weisheim

Leopold “Leo” Weisheim , age 96, of Baraboo, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Leo was born on Oct. 16, 1916 in Necedah, the son of Alex and Marie (Helwer) Weisheim. He was a graduate of Custer High School, in Milwaukee, and had worked for several businesses in the area after graduation. Some of which included, Herbel’s Markets and Allis Chalmers. On June 28, 1941, Leo married Helene Lello. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1993. Leo was drafted into the United States Navy where he served his country during WWII. Upon being honorably discharged in 1946, the family established a home in Milwaukee. He began employment with the Pabst Brewing Co. as a district sales representative, and they relocated to Baraboo in 1952. After a successful sales career, ending with Midwest Pool Supply in Middleton, he settled into retirement. Leo enjoyed traveling throughout the states with his wife, Helene, and was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include three sons, Roger of Baraboo, Richard of Atlanta, Ga., and Leo Allen of Platteville; a brother, Robert of Milwaukee; and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Leo was preceded in death by his two brothers, Alex and Henry; three sisters, Rosie, Emma, and Marie. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at St John’s Lutheran Church, 624 East St., in Baraboo, with Pastor Thomas Fricke officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will held in St. Joseph Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the VFW Greenwood Memorial Post 987. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sauk County Humane Society. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
